Pancake Pete and Patty CONTEST!!!!

Pancake_label_2

It is that time of year again! We are having a "Love My Kids" contest AGAIN!

This time we are mixing things up and making it a little more interesting.

Here is a break down of how it will work.

1. Download Pancake Patty or Pancake Pete from our site. Once the page is open just hit "Print". If you have problems, email us at kristin@whispersphotography.com and we will send you one via email.

2. Decorate the heck out of them!

3. Take them with you.  Wherever it is your family goes, whatever it is your family does, bring those crazy paper peeps with you.

4. Once you're there, take their picture at the location and then once with you!!! Because we want to see your charming face as well with your masterpiece!

5. Write a few words about the location and why you choose it.

6. Email those images and those few words to kristin@whispersphotography.com before June 9th 2008.

7. Now sit back and enjoy the view! New entries will be posted on the Blog.  Have friends and family vote by posting comments on their favorites.  To be a valid vote, they need make sure they use a valid email address so we may confirm their vote.

We have one Grand prize: A free session and an unframed 40x40 Art Canvas valued at 1,600. We also have 4 runner-up awards. But you all know me: I tend to add things to keep your eyes peeled and get decorating and picture taking! You have no reason not to enter!

Void where prohibited by law, rules subject to change without notice, etc.

Somthing Cool Happened on the Way to the Mailbox!

Whispersstudiophotography2 So not too long ago, Studio Photography magazine emailed and asked if I would like Whispersstudiophotography_2 to  write about my canvases in their cool magazine.  A little bird had told them how much my customers LOVE THEM!  So of course I was like "SURE! I am so on this like glitter on glue!"

They asked for a ton of images, which I wasn't expecting, oddly Whispersphotographystudio3_3 enough, and was totally thrilled when I got the call from my fellow photographer friends that they had seen me published!!!

I wanted to share this with everyone because it is so rockin' COOL!

Here is the link if you want to check it out! Studio Photography

Hope the month of April is treating you right!!!

5 Little Monkeys!

Mr. Kendall has more charm and charisma in one little finger than most adults have in their entire bodies.

Whisperpshotography04212008_2 From the moment he was carried in the door, he could light up the room with his smile or be TOTALLY serious and let you know he was in charge.

Kendall and his mom are into to MONKEYS (which you might get from looking at this adorable image of him).

Once he was there wearing his daddy's hat, he totally just hung out and was cool like a monkey!

Thanks for visiting today and I will see you soon.

It's the little things that can make you happy!

Whispers04122008_5 Hannah and her brother...what a hoot the two of them are.

Hannah is a FASHION DIVA living the well-dressed Little Miss life.  She had the best outfits and we both just loved her ballerina outfit.  Hannah likes to be in control of the situation, so there was so MAJOR posing going on.  We had to talk about stinky feet and picking noses to get laughs - it was wellWhispers041220082  worth it.

Hannah's brother Harrison is a sweetie.  I am pretty sure I lost a few calories today acting like a duck or acting like a dog panting at him.  That was the only way I could get a reaction out of him.  He wasn't feeling so hot this morning when he woke up so getting a smile like this one was GREAT!

Enjoy your day and remember to smile! It increases your face value!

Age

Have you ever met someone that just gets more and more interesting with age?

I met Isabella when she was just a few weeks old.  Her hair was red then and I knew that she was going to be this FAB kid that was into anything.  I love that we have this relationship...that she knows who I am and she knows what I do but, lady, you're gonna have to work for it.

Whispers04122008_4 Isabella's mom is one cool cat. She is so in tune with how a session needs to go; she hangs back and lets it unfold.  I am happy she is not a stresser (and if she is, she is super good at hiding it because I would never know during a session).

Several times during the session I had to go to the bribes that Mom had brought, which I might add were mighty tasty!  The reason for the bribe? Well, there is just to much to look at in this wide world and I could feel that she had places to go and people to see. All I wanted was a few minutes of her time, so I layed my reflector on the ground: one, to give her spot to concentrate on and two, to get some light back up under her face. It was kinda gloomy yesterday.  We sat down in front of that old, white, HUGE tree at the botanical gardens and went to town talking about candy - how I was gonna eat it and how she was gonna get it.  I loved that her boyfriend is her Mommy and that she is a big girl and all this came out as she pined for the candy:)

But she stopped to think for one minute and BAM! I love this image.

I hope everyone stayed safe yesterday and had a candy-filled day...

What a Great Day It Will Be!

This is Shelby.  She is an excellent example of a happy, happy child.

Miss Shelby brought her Mommy in for pictures today.  She is going to be a new big sister.  We wanted to get in some Mommy and me pictures before the little one makes an appearance.

Shelby was delightful and I can't wait to see them again.

Caught the Tail End

...of a Diane Sawyer interview last night.  The subject was Randy Pausch.

I find myself thinking I'm living life a lot, but complaining about things that REALLY don't matter.  Watching Randy share his family and what is happening to him was amazing.  He is not a complainer...he is a Tigger, living life no matter how short it will be.

If you missed it and you have 12 minutes today, I urge you to watch it!
