Little Love and Big Love

Rach and Justin have been coming to my studio for 4 years.  I did their first session in their grandmother's home because Rachel was so little that she needed to stay close to home.  I remember being afraid to touch her because she was so tiny.

Well, now look at her...all grown up. We have not worked with the white background for some time with them. I saw her many times her first year and every year after that, so we didn't want to duplicate anything. Today we re-visited the white and I am so happy that we did.

Her mom asked me several times during the session if we were getting good stuff. Man, did we ever!!!

Here is my favorite of Rachel and Justin...

It is hard to be this cute!

Miss Sarah is a firecracker.  Once she walked in the door (or just a little outside the door - no such thing as too soon), she promptly let me know that that her mother was hers and that is just the way it is!

She is two years old and has a lot to say about that.  I love that she adds Y's to the end of her name - instead of Sarah, it is Sarahy.

Thanks for coming to hang out today. I just love this image of you, Miss Sarahy.

Lots of Love

Wanted to share the Lots of Love we have had the past few days.  Thank you to all the families that have stopped by to visit and let us come to visit them.

Enjoy the show.

Bella Loses a Tooth

Here is a funny story. My daughter, Miss Isabella, lost her tooth last weekend.  What made this such a cool thing is that it was her first tooth.  She came home telling my mother that she needed to eat an apple because that would make it come out faster!! Indeed, it did not...but it was worth the try.

That night we are sitting at the table and she is whining (something she is getting better and better at each day) that she can't eat because she might swallow her tooth and die.  We assure her that will not happen and tell her that she'd better finish her dinner.  She then follows that with, "If my tooth comes out, can we go to Build-a-Bear Workshop and build a bear?"  Not thinking, I say "Sure! Whatever, Bella. Just eat that dinner."

Jump to the next morning. We're having breakfast and she is eating her leftover dinner that she did not finish it the night before. She asks the same Build-a-Bear question. I say "Sure, Bella! Just eat your breakfast."

She then YANKS HER TOOTH OUT, spits it in her hand and says "Here! Let's go! I will get dressed."

So that is the I Just Lost a Tooth story.  We took these a few days later and they have a whole 'nother story going on.

Hope you're having a great day...

Cancer Sucks!

Not very long ago, my Mom was told she has breast cancer.  It was caught in the early stage and she has been in to get it removed. Now she is about to start treatment.

Now, I know to be positive and I know that she is going to be totally cool. I am so thankful for that , I can't even begin to tell you.  But I think this needs to be said...CANCER SUCKS!  The thought that one day you wake up and you are sick just SUCKS.

Now we have moved forward and things are more even now (what I mean by that is we understand more of what is going on than when she started this journey), I need to let you know that the waiting game - the time between the first time they tell you they found something and then to the point you have to get it out of your body - is probably one of the scariest things I have ever done. It wasn't even happening to my body and I thought every day I was going to be sick just by the not knowing.  I have never told my Mom this because I didn't want to worry her.  During all this, she became this strength and vision of calm...she became everyone else's rock.  I cried and she comforted me when we found out.

She is healing from her surgery and she will start her next phase soon. We know that she is lucky, and so am I. I feel so blessed and thankful to God for being with her and carrying her because she is my best friend in the entire world...the only person I can make laugh with my silly jokes.

So, if you have been putting off going to the doc to get your breast check, DON'T! There are too many people in the world that love you and need you.
