Long time, no post - things have been super busy around here. I have been trying desperately to balance and I have been failing to keep up my blog. So, here are some updates...
Our Christmas deadline is Dec 15 (yes, we are SUPER pushing it - but we will be able to get your cards to you on time to send out.) If you need to book a last-minute session, give us a call. We have a few dates left in December.
We have a new studio manager - her Name is Rachel O'Neil. She is super sweet and very quiet...the very OPPOSITE of me, which is a good thing :). We found out the other day that she is expecting a baby in July! We are so excited for her! I can't wait to get an image of her and her kids.
My family is doing GREAT. We joined karate at Alexanders Martial Arts and spend the better part of the weeknights there with our kids. They love it and I totally suggest signing your kids up. We have seen a transformation in our kids and we LOVE it. Alexanders has several locations in Huntsville. They are so nice about answering your questions and making kids feel like they have always belonged there.
A few days ago, I found out that I am on my way to being diabetic. Now I have to start the long road of controlling my sugar. I was REALLY bummed out. I thought I was doing what I needed to do but it is not enough. So now I am on a mission to change this and become a healthier (or at least less sugary) person. I had no clue this would be so hard. It's just like learning anything new - it will take time.
Okay, so how is that for an update? I know...I WAY over-share.
So here is Emma. I met Emma a few days after she was born. She is a very quiet soul with me. She
won't give me too many grins so I have to be quick. I have loved watching her grow up. I can still see her as the little baby all curled up on her sofa...and then peeing all over it. Emma's parents just smiled at me as if to say "We must really like you, Kristin. We just had that sofa re-upholstered."
For this session, I met Emma's family downtown. As expected, she was a little clingy at first, but then spread her wings and showed me the big girl she is becoming. She was absolutely perfect...a photographers DREAM!! I love those big eyes. And her words...ohhhh, my. Emma was talking to me and all I could think was, "When did you grow up?"
She truly is a princess and downtown Huntsville was her kingdom today. People stopped on the street in their cars to compliment her. Emma took it with grace - just what a sweet, charming little princess would do.
