I can see myself!

Whispers11282

This little guy is two years old and very fun to hang out with.  I have known him pretty much all his life and, once again, I am blown away by how fast time goes by and how much growing is going on.Whispers1128

Last time I saw Taylor he was not about talking to me, but now he is a talking machine.  You will never guess what his favorite word is...NO.  I have been hearing that a lot this past month.

It was great to see you today, Taylor.

5 for the show

Whispers112607_2 I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend!

I got the pleasure of hanging out with two of my long-time families.  This is a group of siblings and cousins.  They are FUNNY - they always leave me laughing.

This time we did outdoor shots because it has been BEAUTIFUL (yet chilly) out.  It took about 2 minutes before everyone was ready for Whispers1126072 jackets - we pressed on because Kristin had a jacket ;)

Just kidding. I let them get their jackets after a while.

I have a ton of shots to show the moms.

Here are two I picked really quick.  I like to call the jumping shot "The Pretender." The gentleman in the middle (a.k.a. The Pretender) NEVER jumped. I have a string of shots with him PRETENDING to, but ohh well  I still like it.

Thanks Kyle, Kaite, Tyler, Garrett and Lauren. Still can't get over how much you grew up in one year.

I SAID- I am done!

Christmaswhispers3_2 Here is a funny story. So here is Molly and her baby sister Sarah.  Two BEAUTIFUL young little girls that light up a room and one says the funniest things.  Now, I have known Molly for a good long time and we have an ongoing relationship together.  Knowing that, I should also know that when she says done she really means DONE.

So, if you have ever wondered what done looks like, exhibit "A" below is an excellent example of this.  My favorite is "The Removal" (a.k.a. "Hanging Feet" due to the fact she was still upset just a little higher up in the air).

I had fun today, Molly and Sarah - see you soon.

Inspired

Rachel and I have been getting ready for Miss Tory's session for some time now.  Tory is inspired by so much and has so many GREAT ideas that it was hard to fit them all into one session.

We started the day downtown and then moved back to the studio.  She was a great sport.  I have done many cool seniors and Tory was no different.  She is a soccer player a good student with her head on right. The world had better look out because here comes Tory...

A beautiful day!

Outsidewhispers4 So I am sitting at my desk quickly downloading and pulling images from my session to show a sneak peek...when a WORM crawls out of my shirt down my arm!

The screams that came out of my mouth were super-human. Rach came a runnin' to find out who I killed because that is what it sounded like.  I must have carried the little guy fromOutsidewhispers2_2  my last session. He was so super sweet, but his charms didn't save him from my wrath. I threw him at my monitor, where he then landed on the keyboard.

Outsidewhispers3 Rach is very gentle. She took him outside (giggling at me the entire time, of course). I keep shaking out my shirt and hair looking for more. Ewwwww.

Here is Ethan. He is 2.5 and likes to take control of his situations.  He will NOT be told what to do. He must show us how to do it.  The minute I said we were done, he started doing exactly what we tried to con him into doing at the start of the session.  That is when you hit the ground and start shooting:)Outsidewhispers1

I know he liked what we were doing because, when I said we were done (actually done this time), he followed me to every window to say goodbye. I heard his sweet tapping on the window with a "HEY, HEY!"

Rachel just corrected me. It was not a worm, it was a caterpillar. I feel like there are about 10 more on me, so I must go jump around and shake off.

Reasons I love Huntsville...

Long time, no post - things have been super busy around here.  I have been trying desperately to balance and I have been failing to keep up my blog.  So, here are some updates...

Our Christmas deadline is Dec 15 (yes, we are SUPER pushing it - but we will be able to get your cards to you on time to send out.)  If you need to book a last-minute session, give us a call. We have a few dates left in December.

We have a new studio manager - her Name is Rachel O'Neil.  She is super sweet and very quiet...the very OPPOSITE of me, which is a good thing :).  We found out the other day that she is expecting a baby in July! We are so excited for her! I can't wait to get an image of her and her kids.

Whispersdowntown My family is doing GREAT. We joined karate at Alexanders Martial Arts and spend the better part of the weeknights there with our kids. They love it and I totally suggest signing your kids up.  We have seen a transformation in our kids and we LOVE it.  Alexanders has several locations in Huntsville. They are so nice about answering your questions and making kids feel like they have always belonged there.

A few days ago, I found out that I am on my way to being diabetic. Now I have to start the long road of controlling my sugar.  I was REALLY bummed out. I thought I was doing what I needed to do but it is not enough.  So now I am on a mission to change this and become a healthier (or at least less sugary) person.  I had no clue this would be so hard. It's just like learning anything new - it will take time.

Okay, so how is that for an update? I know...I WAY over-share.

So here is Emma. I met Emma a few days after she was born.  She is a very quiet soul with me. SheDowntownwhispers072  Downtownwhispers073 won't give me too many grins so I have to be quick.  I have loved watching her grow up.  I can still see her as the little baby all curled up on her sofa...and then peeing all over it. Emma's parents just smiled at me as if to say  "We must really like you, Kristin. We just had that sofa re-upholstered."

For this session, I met Emma's family downtown. As expected, she was a little clingy at first, but then spread her wings and showed me the big girl she is becoming.  She was absolutely perfect...a photographers DREAM!! I love those big eyes. And her words...ohhhh, my. Emma was talking to me and all I could think was, "When did you grow up?"

She truly is a princess and downtown Huntsville was her kingdom today.  People stopped on the street in their cars to compliment her. Emma took it with grace - just what a sweet, charming little princess would do.
